Poverty's No Crime is a German progressive metal band, founded in 1991. They quickly gained recognition by winning the Newcomer Rockfestival and playing as a support act for bands like Depressive Age and Waltari. After a line-up change and a collaboration with Inside Out Music, they released Slave to the Mind (1999). After a hiatus, the band returned in 2007 with Save My Soul, followed by Spiral of Fear in 2016, which was praised for its mature sound. Poverty's No Crime remains a prominent name in the progressive metal scene.
Scarlet Stories is a Dutch band from Tilburg, known for their dark, progressive music with influences from heavy metal, ambient, film music and doom. In 2019, they released their debut album Necrologies, which received rave reviews from NRC, iO Pages and Aardschok. The album, produced by Joost van den Broek (Ayreon, Powerwolf), is a tribute to the victims of human greed. The band, which now has a full line-up, played as support for Antimatter and KLONE and won the iO Pages Prog Award 2019.
Altesia is a progressive metal band from Bordeaux, founded in 2017 by Clément Darrieu. Their music moves between genres such as progressive rock, metal, jazz, funk and even death metal. After their debut album Paragon Circus (2019), the band released the acclaimed album Embryo in 2021 and toured France. They are now expecting their 3rd: The Somnambulist. Altesia combines calm atmospheres with powerful, intense music that carries you away from start to finish.
Five-piece Hackberry from Groningen combines progressive rock, stoner, metal and psychedelics with complex time signatures and surprising tempo changes. After their EP Desert Orchid and debut album Hackberry, the band released Breathing Space in 2023, which received rave reviews from the prog community. They have played at our venue before, and at festivals such as Into the Void and ProgPower Europe, where Aardschok wrote: 'Hackberry keeps instrumental songs exciting, even after 10 minutes.'
